Last night (Friday 2nd July 2021) marked the end of an era. After 6 years in command Flt Lt Mike Jelley RAFAC handed over command of 1207 (Maldon) Sqn to Fg Off Ryan Vanhinsburgh RAFAC. Flt Lt Jelley has had an incredible 6 years as OC 1207 building the squadron into the successful and well respected squadron we are today. To mark the handover Wg Cdr Robinson, OC Essex Wing RAFAC, attended the parade to formally hand the command over and present some cadets with certificated they earned over lockdown.
Flt Lt Jelley will now take up his new appointment as North Essex Sector Commander, a post which I am sure he will fulfil with the same enthusiasm and drive we saw as OC 1207. Good Luck Sir!
